"My paintings are an expression of the joy I feel when I connect with landscape. I love to explore wild and natural places both near and far – walking, sketching, and taking photos that I can then use as starting points for my work. My paintings, though firmly anchored in landscape, are always semi-abstract as I like to respond to different memories simultaneously - building, scraping and scoring surfaces in order to expose the history of the piece.
